About the Role

We are seeking Lip Speakers all over the UK. Lip Speaker
Role
A lip speaker is a communication professional who has been trained to repeat the words a speaker is saying using very clear lip patterns, to enable a lip reader to understand what is being said. Lip speakers are used in situations where it would be difficult for the deaf person to lip read the actual speaker, for example in lectures.
References – The appointment may be subject to the receipt of references, which are satisfactory to Onyx Support.

Hours – You will be required to register as self-employed. As a freelancer, Onyx Student Support will seek to provide you with as many hours as are available.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications:


One of the following qualifications is required for this role:

1. Signature Level 3 Certificate in Lipspeaking

2. Council for the Advancement of Communication with Deaf People (CACDP) Level 3 Certificate for LSPs working with Deaf and Deafblind People (Lip speaking)

3. The National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD) Registered Lip speaker
